Dr. Nicholas Atanasoff
founded his private practice – the Addiction Outreach Clinic (AOC) – in 2007 when he left his career
as a psychiatrist. Today, AOC is a thriving multi-location operation
that has helped thousands of people recover from opioid addiction.
Fighting a Crisis
Alongside his team at AOC, former psychiatrist Dr. NicholasAtanasoff is fighting the opioid crisis in the United States, which is at
epidemic levels in Ohio and Pennsylvania. These two states are the location of
all of Dr. Atanasoff’s AOC locations so they can help as many patients as
possible.
Thankfully, the government has rolled out state-funded programs
to prevent overdosing incidents and improve addiction treatment, but patients
need help. Offering assistance to patients is where AOC comes in.
At AOC, patients are required to attend just one visit per month
for their drug testing, doctor's appointment, counseling session, and suboxone
prescription. This tactic allows them to recover with minimal withdrawal
symptoms without compromising existing work or family responsibilities.
